Both models certified for Milestone XProtect VMS Systems as First & Second Tier Storage and Target solution for Live and Archive Databases – Highly Cost-effective Storage Expansion for Installed Systems

Pomona, CA – October 17, 2016 - QNAP just achieved yet another storage industry milestone by achieving Milestone XProtect® certification for two of its more popular rack-mounted corporate/SMB NAS solutions, the TVS-EC2480U-SAS-RP (R2) and the TS-EC2480U (R2). By certifying the two QNAP NAS models for first-tier and multi-tier storage of both Live & Archive Databases on XProtect VMS systems, cost-effective storage can now be easily added to existing systems needing storage expansion that is highly reliable, scalable, and designed for business.

Milestone Systems certified the two QNAP models in a formal testing report dated July 11, 2016, and concluded “QNAP NAS is a certified storage platform for use with the Milestone XProtect VMS. With the chosen hard disk configuration used in the test, the devices easily supported the performance benchmark level. The calculator indicates that the QNAP NAS were able to support a maximum of 200 cameras. The performance testing determined that the QNAP NAS solution can support at least twice the number of cameras as recommended by the calculator.” The full test report will be made available upon request.
